Family Therapy
When I worked in public mental health as a school-based therapist, it felt wrong to pull kids out of class for an hour a week for therapy. In getting to know my clients and what was affecting their mental health, I realized it's not the kids who need therapy - it's their parents!
I stopped pulling kids out of class and started working with their families exclusively. I saw that oftentimes children become scapegoats in response to a much larger issue created by the family system as a whole. If you're still reading, then I commend your willingness to consider the part you play in your child’s well-being.

There is no issue too big or small, no child too young or old for you to start family therapy now. In family therapy, we may talk, laugh, cry, scream (respectfully), get silly, get serious, make art, play games (yes I have Uno), and make messes all while learning how to clean up the mess that got you here. Our work will open up a greater understanding, love, and respect for one another - which will help to set a new foundation of functioning in your family.
